Let me begin by thanking you for your awesome, courageous, public admission that you were taxed at a lower rate than your secretary. The entire world, including me – as if I matter in a world of seven billion humans – has but the greatest admiration for your frankness. Who would have thought, the poster boy – er, gentleman – for the super duper rich pleading to pay more in taxes. The left is having a field day with the leak of offshore account information. They’re at their favourite sport, vilifying the rich, and for what. For wanting to have a little more; for worrying that governments will get hold of their ill-gotten hard won wealth and just squander it, now that it’s safely hidden from their grasping reach; and so what if it’s not being that productive, at least it’s not being wasted on useless social programs. The poor and so-called needy – more like wastrels if you ask me – should just get jobs rather than wait idly for handouts from those who have it.
